My Dad, Warren had a serious heart attack last Saturday (1/3/09) and has been in the hospital ever since. The Wenzel's have not experienced a set back this extensive and it took us by complete surprise. It is amazing how families rally together in troubled situations and how other things just do not matter. The only thing important right now is that Dad gets back on his wheels.
Tonight Dad had a big smile on his face. Still not out of the woods, but things are looking up.
We love you Dad and are looking forward to you going home!
New Years Day 5k Race that ran on both sides of the Red River. The runner right behind me (Brandon) was 14 years old and put the hurt on me the last half of the race. I caught up to him after the first mile and was able to get his name and age. I told him to tuck in behind my left shoulder and let me pull him through the windy sections; he stuck to my like glue. The course took us North up 2nd street right into the wind, Brandon was right there. When we turned left on 4th avenue to the finish he passed me and beat me by almost 10 seconds. I enjoyed blocking the wind for this kid and would do it again the next race for sure.
