This is one of the Red Tailed Hawks that is nested half way down the block. There are four of the birds up in the nest. Roy Sanders who lives across the street has been watching them close all summer. The Mom and Dad have been taking care of business all summer. One of the two sitting on the nest the whole time while the other is off grabbing something to eat. When Roy and I viewed them today, the babies were sitting on the side of the nest and eating something from the middle of the nest. Roy said that was the first time that he has seen them moving around, very cool. We watched them with a binoculars and they looked like that had been run through the spin cycle on the dryer but already at least 6 inches tall.
Matt and Ben had the annual Gator Invite Swim Meet at the Fargo Island Park Pool. This is always a fun event because it is outside and we get to hang around downtown all weekend. Kriston puts in a lot more work then I do, but we both spend a lot of time helping organize and doing what needs to be done during the meet. Lots to do with set up, timing, food and Officials. When you are the host team, it is on your shoulders to get everything done. There are a lot of good parents of the team that help out big time.
A clip of Ben swimming the 50 back where he ended first place in his heat.
