PBSF

One of the first open Saturdays we have had in a long time and we took full advantage.  Matt, Ben, Zach Johnson and I made a spur of the moment decision to go camping up at the Paul Bunyan State Forest, NE of Park Rapids Friday evening.
I have mentioned PBSF numerous times in the blog as this is a special place to get out in the forest and enjoy all it has to offer.  No bikes this trip, our goal was to kick back and relax.  In fact I turned my phone off half way there and did not turn it on until we got half way home.
The moon was almost full and the wind was blowing all night, but sleeping under the stars is the only way to go this time of year.  No bugs and cool temps make it more than comfortable.
The camp.  Its an old fire look out site complete with a cement pad the size of a double garage.
Zach and Matt getting ready for breakfast.
Ben is the pro at making bacon on an open fire.  He has the feel for making sure it doesn't burn.
The breakfast feast.  Eggs, potatoes, bacon and fresh bread.  Does not get any better and always tastes better when you prepare it outside in the middle of no where.
Zach and Matt are taking a photo of Ben who is up towards the top of the pine tree.  Seriously Ben is 40' up.  He was not scared, but did say that the wind would sway the tree big time which made it a bit unnerving.
Matt setting up the slack line.  We did not have a problem killing most of the day doing as little as possible.  There were guns, machetes, shovels, junk food, swearing and just a lot of hanging out enjoying the outdoors.
Perfect  trip.
