Photo of Matt down at Grandma Wenzel's house blowing snow with their single stage blower. Surprisingly if you work it right, the blower does a good job. We made three trips down to Grandma's over the weekend. Fortunately they did not need to go anywhere which made it easier. Brownies were fresh and ready each time we finished.
Ben using our snowblower at home. Both Matt and Ben are proficient at running all of the household power equipment which is a big plus when the work is required. Two big boys can move a lot of snow.
Watch my neighbor avoid the wrath of the snowplow. The plows did not roll through until Saturday afternoon, three days after the storms started. Hat's off to the Fargo crews moving snow. There are a lot of knuckle heads out there that get in the way, stuck or general dumb stuff. The city is saying a couple of weeks to knock the huge piles down at the intersections. Of course the nasty "flood" word is already being thrown around.
To sum things up, the first storm started after lunch on Thursday afternoon. The wind picked up, the temperatures dropped and it started snowing. According to the news, we received 4 inches of snow Thursday but it was hard to measure because it blew so much. The snow stopped but the wind blew all day Friday. Around 5pm Friday afternoon the snow kicked into overdrive and pounded until midnight 2011. Luckily the wind was not as bad so things were a bit more manageable, we ended up with 5 inches of snow with the Friday storm. Two day total, 10 inches. In my opinion we received more but who knows.
I did not make it out skiing this last weekend. Grabbed a window of time on Sunday and went snow shoeing for over an hour, very deep snow and an excellent work out. I was able to snap a ski pole, my favorite ski pole with the effort. I knew better and should have chosen the right pole, live and learn.
Winter is here, go out and enjoy it, cheers!
