Benny in the flood flight action Monday evening. We went back to finish up a couple of places on Woodcrest Drive. Ben was right in the middle of the line adding value. Good job Ben! Check out the old gentleman behind Ben. The guy was working very hard with no complaints.

Tuesday I was able to put in 2/3rds of a days work at the office as I was waiting for a call from Skip Fisher on North Terrace Drive. He was suppose to have sand bags between 9 and 11 but did not get any until 2. There were just enough volunteers to finish up by 7pm. Skips brother Gary was setting bags and cleaning the sand off of his glasses.

The almost completed dike in Skips back yard. When the dike is done 3 mill poly is draped over the top to seal the deal.

Post dike cool down. The whole Wenzel family was involved today. Kriston was there most of the day digging in. She even supplied a huge bowl of pasta for the crews.

After building the dikes we made our way to the Fargo Dome where sand was dumped on the floor and you jumped in and got after it. Kriston working hard holding the bags.

The fruits of all the labor.

Huge D500 Kamatsu loader moving in to dump sand. The operator weaved his way through two dumpsters filled with bags to keep the crews busy.

One of the best parts about working like this is the great out pouring of community service including local merchants. Sandy's Donuts from West Fargo by the dozens! Considering that you are busting your butt it is sinless eating.

The view of the Fargo Dome from the bleachers. Place was packed with thousands of people. Very impressive to see. I would estimate that it would take less then half an hour to shovel a semi driven gravel truck load of sand into bags. Kind of seemed like we were a bunch of ants working at a larger scale.
Another day tomorrow with my plan to help in the Peterson Parkway area of north Fargo. After tomorrow I would estimate that it will be dike watch time. The river crest forecast changes every day so we just have to hope for the best.
