Last Saturday afternoon Fargo North High competed with the rest of the eastern ND schools in the 2010 Eastern Dakota Conference boys swim meet.
West Fargo, Grand Forks, Fargo South and Fargo North represented. West Fargo was the favored team to beat due to their consistent EDC conference winning streak and their 2010/2011 strong team.
FN beat WF two weeks ago in a dual meet. Of course the WF media documented that 7 of the WF swimmers were not in the pool due to illness and that they were not on their "A" game which resulted in their loss.
The Fargo North Spartans entering the pool. Senior TJ Dragger waving the flag and leading the way.
Fargo South was the sponsor of the meet held at the Fargo North pool which meant that I did not have to work up in the tower doing the scoring. Both Kriston and I sat in the stands with the other parents and had a blast. Dave Radebaugh and I scrutinized the heat sheets and the seed times for each event. We were calculating our chances and documenting lap splits throughout the meet. When FN came out and won the first two events we knew we had a chance to pull off a win. As the meet progressed and our swimmers were swimming flawlessly our anticipation for a win was becoming real. By the last event we calculated that if FN did not get DQ'd we would be the EDC champions! FN did not DQ and we were number one!

Not sure what the WF media is going to print this week.
The ND State Swim meet is this coming weekend up in Grand Forks. Matt and Ben as well as the rest of the team are excited and ready to go. It is going to be a great end of season event.
