ND State Short Course Championships in Bismarck ND this last weekend. Impressive new facility adjacent to the Bismarck State University campus. I believe this was the first major meet in the new pool. Dennis Kemmest from Bismarck was instrumental in getting this project off the ground, working with the school and the Bismarck Park District to create a top notch facility, by far the nicest in the Midwest. Full length Olympic sized pool with all the the appropriate bulk heads to segment specific lengths. In addition, there is a 25 yard cool down pool as well, very nice.
Big score board with all of the bells and whistles. I spent a session down on the deck timing which gave me a great view of all the new toys.
State of the art starting blocks. All of the wiring is integrated under the deck. Pad on top of the block gauged the reaction time after the start buzzer went off. Both Matt and Ben are out of the pool until May. It has been a long haul considering they both started the first week in October.
